The goal of the Electronic Health Record is to replace the paper with an electronic record while maintaining all of the elements of the traditional paper-based method, including all of the information about a patient’s care throughout the lifetime of that patient.When data is integrated, as it is using an EHR system, patient care improves, risks are greatly reduced, HIPAA compliance is ensured, and you are able to reduce your expenses and increase your revenues – without working longer hours. The goal with EHR is to streamline the laborious process of taking care of and storing written documents. They can also lead to quicker data access for a particular patient as well as make the existing information more legible. Using EHR is also extremely cost saving, as it eliminates the need to print out hundreds of papers and records. Perhaps the most important benefit of all is faster and more accurate patient diagnoses. Using an electronic record to look at a person’s medical history allows doctors to find conditions much easier than a written one.No I do not think paper records shound be used ,and Medical billers and coders can use EHR systems to justify financial reimbursement from insurance companies and maintain a legal record of medical events
