1. Taylor Swift reads Psalms 150 out loud in the back of her tour bus: 

1 Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse. 2 Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness. 3 Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre. 4 Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. 5 Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals. 6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! 

After reading Psalm 150, Taylor is somewhat bothered and begins to say so out loud. She struggles with the idea that God would demand our praise or that He wants us to give Him glory, and she seriously considers writing a song in response to her frustration. But it just so happens that C. S. Lewis is in the front of the bus and hears the commotion. Based on C. S. Lewis’s words, explain how C. S. Lewis might have gently responded to her.

2. Answer the question in a thorough and thoughtful way. 

Taylor Swift is content with C. S. Lewis’s answer, and she is excited to learn more about the Psalms, but Lewis has a luncheon, so he got off the bus 10 miles ago. The great news is that it just so happens that you have just boarded her tour bus with all of your class notes, an ESV Study Bible, Keller’s book, and access to the internet. Taylor reads and has some questions: (1) What does mean? (2) Why should I care? (3) What do you personally like most about this Psalm? 

3. Answer the question in a thorough and thoughtful way. 

You happen to receive a phone call notifying you that you have to leave the bus in 30 minutes. Taylor overhears, but she really wants to at least hear you explain one more Psalm before you leave. If you don’t she will probably write a song about you abandoning her on the bus and make millions of dollars from the experience. You are not concerned about the threat, you just like helping people. Taylor is very grateful and asks about Psalm 103. She is fine with you choosing. Her questions are still the same: (1) What does the Psalm mean? (2) Why should I care? (3) What do you personally like most about this Psalm?
