The main purpose of these stories is to introduce a real-world flavor into the learning process. These boxes provide insight into the role that finance plays in the business world today.

For the Part 1 assignment, choose a Finance in Practice box in chapter 11, 13, 14, or 15. Read the story in the box and then find 2 or 3 additional articles about the topic discussed in the box. Using these other references, write a 400 word essay on the topic. Your essay should clarify and extend the topic, specifically demonstrating the connection between the theory of finance and the practice of finance. Be sure to cite your references in proper APA format.
