please response using the textbook to make input on commenting on the comment of author.
Please plan to respond to at least two (2) peers each week to demonstrate active participation, and respond in threads other than the thread where you submitted your main post to gain knowledge of various topics we are discussing. Additionally, keep in mind that if I respond to your post by Friday of the active week and ask you to explain or clarify something in your initial post, you should plan to respond to that post as well, as it is likely to earn you more points for initial discussion.
In general, each discussion response should:
· reflect on the concept you learned about from your readings and lectures
· offer an example to support your position
· answer all questions in an original voice (written in YOUR voice, not simply paraphrased from the text)
· correctly cite all sources of reference in-text and at the end of your post as a reference
· end with a final statement that talks about what you learned or what you take away from this lesson
· demonstrate excellent attention to both writing and style
RE: Public speaking
COLLAPSE
Top of Form
Public speaking is when one individual plans to speak in front of a large structured crowd to either inform, influence or entertain the listeners. A conversation is when two or more communicate generally regarding a topic, but follows the rules of etiquette. A general conversation usually is less formal that public speaking; The timing, organizational structure, use of formalized language and method of delivery is what makes the difference between public speaking and a conversation.
Though public speaking and having a conversation have differences, there are a few similarities, such as your composure when speaking. There should be constant eye contact with the other party of the conversation or the listeners in the audience. Eye contact lets the person know that you are aware of what your are speaking on and are receiving their feedback. Both types of communication skills include a message being delivered when the speaker is done talking.
I personally prefer to have a general conversation rather that public speaking. The flow is more suitable and I am less nervous. Trying to prepare my mental to speak in front of a crowd always make me jittery by just thinking of it. Public speaking is not for everyone, and I am one of the ones it is not for.
