Part 1 (35 points):

• Write a 1 ½ to 3-page paper (academic writing style). Identify a situational characteristic in
Invictus.

o Name the film, cite the movie, and explain the situation.
o Use critical thinking skills to discuss how the situation affected organizational

effectiveness and leadership behavior of at least 2 characters at the personal,
professional, and regional levels.

o Discuss the importance of equity in leadership and how at least 2 characters in Invictus
did or did not demonstrate equity in their leadership styles.

• The emphasis of this paper is not on APA style, it is on the content. However, it is important to
understand how to properly cite sources in order to avoid plagiarism. Contact Think Tank or the
instructor for clarification or additional support.

• Check your paper in Turnitin. Do not rely on the percentage number. Look carefully to see if you
used more than 3 words without properly citing. If what you have written was used in a previous
article/book/paper, the words will be highlighted. If you have used quotation marks and
properly cited the source of the direct quote, you are in good shape.

• A reminder, in academic writing, to avoid long quotes or using a series of quotes to get your
message across. Paraphrase using your own words. Remember that when you quote from a
written source to cite the page number in the citation, such as: (APA, 2019, p. 270). If you quote
from a film/movie, or refer to a specific scene, cite the director, year, and time stamp, such as:
(Director, YEAR, 14:52).
