This week’s assignment is to complete variance analyses for two processes in your organization, and to submit IT-related recommendations for reducing (or, in the best case, eliminating) the variance associated with two of the procedural steps in each process. Please do the following:
1) Download the copy of the variance analysis that I’ve uploaded into our course shell. You can find it here p.58 Managing Tech Change.pdf. This variance analysis is the template for the analysis that you will conduct.
2) Think of a critical process that occurs frequently at your work. This process should have at least eight steps. For this process, list a) each process step, b) the variance associated with each step, and c) the cause of the variance.
3) Pick at least two of the process steps whose variance could be reduced/eliminated via the introduction/improvement of an IT-related solution. Explain this solution in detail.
This assignment requires you do identify two distinct critical processes, so you will repeat steps two and three for your second process. Each process is worth 25 points.
