(TCO C) Jerry Garcia is running for the Westerville School Board this fall. Election day is on the first Tuesday in November. Garcia is concerned about how much in funds the Board has allocated for abled and talented programs which serve gifted children. At the start of the 2013-2014 school year, the Board informed the community that it allocated $1.2 million for such programs. Garcia would like to see if this amount is in the school budget approved by the Westerville School Board in December, 2012. Garcia would also like to as of October 2013, how much of the $1.2 million has been used by the school district for the abled and talented programs. He has heard rumors that they have already spent nearly 60% of the allocation so far. Today, Garcia wants to formally request a copy of the Westerville School Board 2013-2014 Budget. He also wants to know how much of the budgetary allocation for abled and talented programs has been used up until October 1, 2013. He knows the school administrations does not posses any 5 year projections for future abled and talented programming, but he want the Board staff to generate this data for him.
