The SCM system is aimed at improving service delivery through an efficient and effective ordering system; this will ultimately improve the competitive advantage of the Company. Alpha is currently utilizing a legacy order fulfillment systems in managing its inventory and distribution, these systems do not integrate well which has increased redundancy in the input data as well as in the data that is processed. There is also redundancy of processes which has made work to be duplicated requiring multiple data entry points while sometimes resulting in irreconcilable and inaccurate data. The legacy order fulfillment systems have led to the shortage of supply due to the time that is taken for the data to flow from one point to the other.
